Targeted Communities

Project E3 provided long-term, on-site, intensive technical assistance to 12 economically distressed communities. We focused on improving services to support people with disabilities eligible for VR services reach their employment goals and become integrated in their communities.

Project E3 is focused on the following goals:

  • Implementing comprehensive support services to increase VR participation and improve employment outcomes of people who were traditionally underserved.  We address systemic barriers such as poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, safety concerns, interpersonal and family issues, language barriers, and lack of transportation and childcare.
  • Expanding and strengthening community partnerships with local social service and community development agencies, correctional facilities, community rehabilitation programs, school systems, employers, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Identifying and expanding needed services for people eligible for VR services who come from economically disadvantaged communities and who face multiple challenges to employment.

Following is information about each of the targeted communities that work with Project E3.
