Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, empathic, goal-directed approach to evoke internal motivation for change. Christopher Wagner and April Lynch will review the role of motivation in vocational rehabilitation and the use of motivational interviewing strategies with vocational rehabilitation clientele. They’ll share their knowledge and experience around the spirit of motivational interviewing, collaborative relationships, communication styles, and strategies for developing momentum for change. They’ll also explore the four processes used in motivational interviewing.
